Hungary Calls on EU to Support AI Solutions in Preserving Cultural Heritage

The European Union must support the contributions of artificial intelligence to preserving European and national cultural heritage, but must stand up to technology-based attempts “built on manipulation and designed to strip people of elements of their dignity”, the minister of culture and innovation said on Tuesday, after a meeting of culture ministers in Brussels.

The now each year very expected European Art of Garden exhibition and sale organized by the Joseph Karolyi Fondation in the Károlyi stately home park in Fehérvárcsurgó will take place between 31 May and 2 June, with Romania, Findland and France as guest of honour countries whose representative lecturers will speak on the opening day in presence of their respective Ambassadors.

Pamuk, who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2006, will be interviewed during a podium discussion and he will be presented with the Budapest Grand Prix, the association of Hungarian publishers said.

A Hungarian city or town will have the possibility to become a European Capital of Culture in 2023, the human resources minister said on Friday, inviting cities and towns to submit their bids already this year. Zoltán Balog made the announcement in Pécs, in southern Hungary, which held the title in 2010 along with Essen and Istanbul.

Hungary, as the current president of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), hosted a large-scale international event remembering the Holocaust, in London. Szabolcs Takács, Hungary’s state secretary for EU affairs, said London was a symbolic venue for such an event as Britain had a very strong Jewish community from whom there was a lot to learn.
